Affairs of Greece</head><head>The Spartan Envoys</head>At the same time envoys were sent by the Lacedaemonian exiles to <a class="linkToPlace" target="_blank" href="/place?placename=Rome&groupId=935&placeId=1669">Rome</a>, among them being Arcesilaus and <a class="linkToPlace" target="_blank" href="/place?placename=Agesipolis&groupId=302&placeId=594">Agesipolis</a>, who as a boy had been king of <a class="linkToPlace" target="_blank" href="/place?placename=Sparta&groupId=660&placeId=1208">Sparta</a>.
They were both caught and murdered at sea by some pirates,
but their colleagues were conveyed to <a class="linkToPlace" target="_blank" href="/place?placename=Rome&groupId=935&placeId=1669">Rome</a>.
