Abstract: "On Claudius' accession in A.D. 41 the acta of Gaius were rescinded by the senate. Thus the client-kings such as Herod Agrippa, C. Julius Antiochus IV of Commagene, and Aspurgus whom Gaius had appointed found themselves in a constitutional limbo. Claudius moved quickly to make their situation regular, a procedure that caused confusion for the historians Josephus und Dio. - D.J.H."
