"Pour H-A Josèphe développe trois modèles d'héroines bibliques: "Sarah as the traditional wife, Rebecca as the assertive woman, and Rachel as the romantic lead", et deux modèles de femmes fatales, la Madianite, séductrice et trompeuse, et la femme de Potiphar, brûlée par la passion sexuelle; à l'aide de ces modèles H-A analyse les modifications que Josèphe introduit dans ses descriptions des autres caractères féminins par rapport au texte biblique".
"Josephus developed five typologies for his biblical women in Antiquities. Three personify the ideal woman, the heroine in all her various garbs: Sarah the traditional wife, Rebecca the assertive woman, and Rachel the romantic lead. The other two, attached to the Midianite women and the wife of Potiphar, are personifications of the villainess. Josephus used these typologies in portraying other biblical women. The context (historical narrative) and form (idealized typologies) reflect Josephus' Hellenistic world; the exegetical method reflects his peculiary Jewish world". - D.J.H. Keywords: Antiquities |
