| Title: Sur le vêtement du grad prêtre: le delos était-il une pierre divinatoire? Secondary Title: VetChr Volume: 26 Pages: 23-48 Type: Journal Article Year: 1989 Abstract: "According to Cyril of Alexandria, Hom. Pasch. 4 [PG 77, 465 D], the delos of Exod. 28 was a divinatory stone of the high priest's pectoral, taking its name from showing God's will by its changing colours. As appears from an overview of the interpretations given to the high priest's vestments by Philo, Josephus, and the Church fathers, Cyril is unique in offering this explanation. After p. 39 a portion of text must have been lost in printing". - A. Hilhorst Keywords: Cultural and Religious History of Ancient Judaism |
