Abstract: "Josephus' account of Alexander the Great's visit to Jerusalem (Ant. 11:329-339) is historically plausible. For this episode Josephus probably used his non-Thucydidean Jewish oral-historical tradition. The three concessions made by Alexander to the Jews of Jerusalem (Ant. 11:338) confirm this suggestion".
