| Title: Naming Names. Some Observations on "Nameless Women" Traditions in the MT, LXX and Hellenistic Literature Secondary Title: SJOT Volume: 6 Pages: 213-232 Type: Journal Article Year: 1992 Abstract: "This study investigates the phenomenon of women who appear in one tradition (either MT or LXX text) as nameless but are named in another tradition (MT, LXX, or Hellenistic literature). In particular it examines some of the literary-critical issues involved in some of the nameless woman traditions in the Hebrew Bible. Hellenistic texts such as the Apocryha and Pseudepigrapha, Josephus, and Philo provide (1) additional textual variants or informatin of equal value to the LXX or MT, or (2) the beginnings of a process of midrashic or creative interpretation". - C.R.M.
