| Title: From D to Q. A Study of Early Jewish Interpretations of Solomon's Dream at Gibeon Secondary Title: SBL.MS 44 Type: Book Year: 1991 Abstract: "This revised doctoral dissertation suggests that the Jewish interpretations of the story of God's appearance to Solomon at Gibeon exemplify an interpretive flexibility that corresponds with the contemporary methodological pluralism in biblical scholarship. It discusses the redaction history of 1 Kgs 3:2-15, the pre-Deuteronomistic Vorlage, interpretation in redaction, interpretation in histories of Israel (2 Chr 1:1-13; Josephus, Ant. 8:21-25), and interpretations in instructions (Qoh 1:12-2:26; Wisdom 6-9; Lk 12:22-31). It concludes with reflextions on the adaptability, stability, and intertextuality in the process of interpreting Solomon's dream.
