Abstract: The author compares different accounts in the works of Josephus on how Cleopatra was badly represented and analyzes how the accounts of Josephus on Cleopatra developed. In BJ 1: 359-367, Josephus showed how she ruined the life of Mark Antony. In BJ, Cleopatra and Herod were portrayed as natural enemies. Josephus expanded his material and in Apion 2: 56-60, he depicted her as a wicked tyrant and the enemy of the people of Rome.
