| Title: The formation of the Hebrew Bible canon; Isaiah as a test case Secondary Title: The Canon Debate Pages: 53-67 Type: Book Section Year: 2002 Abstract: The compilation of the latter books of the prophets might have gone through several stages, possibly including a Deutronomic phase. The inclusion of Deutronomic narrative in the book of Isaiah played an important part in its compilation. This example thus attests how different and ideologically incompatible points of views came together in a canonical collection. The canon process was not at all a straight forward concept but there were tensions in between. Keywords: Bible; Isaiah; prophets; Chronicles; Josephus |
