Abstract: The city of Bethsaida was renamed Julius, whom, according to Josephus, was the wife of Augustus. It was assumed that Josephus made an error about Augustus' wife, whose name should be Livia. But in fact two different titles were given to Livia: she was Augustus' wife, but she was also granted to be his daughter. It was thus not an error made by Josephus, who actually wanted to enhance her standing by referring her with different titles.
