Abstract: The Jewish people and the rulers had tension during the time of Gaius Caligula. He imposed his own statue and cult in the Jerusalem Temple and provoked the protests in Judaea and Galilee. This essay thus investigates the identity, social dynamics, leadership, and ideology of Judaea and Galilee during that time.
