| Title: Some observations on Josephus and Christianity Secondary Title: Journal of Theological Studies Volume: 52,2 Pages: 539-624 Type: Journal Article Year: 2001 Abstract: Josephus' writings were valued and preserved by Christian traditions. Josephus' account on James' death was only seen as a factor contributed to the downfall of Ananus. The description about Jesus might have only been an altered form by Christians from the original Josephus' texts. Josephus was actually reluctant to mention Christianity because he disliked its beliefs and thought that it embarrassed Judaism. |
