Abstract: Philo tried to overcome the resistant elements of the biblical laws by creating different classification. For example, he implied that any principles of the Decalogue had a double character. Cicero also classified the Roman laws with similar motivations. Philo's originality is confirmed through a comparison with contemporary Jewish literature, especially the works of Josephus.
