| Title: Zum Kanonsbewusstsein des Josephus Flavius in "Contra Apionem" und in den "Antiquitates" Secondary Title: Journal for the Study of Judaism in the Persian, Hellenistic and Roman Period Volume: 32,2 Pages: 159-177 Type: Journal Article Year: 2001 Abstract: Josephus' statements about the books of the Jewish scripture in Apion 1:37-42 and his earlier comments in Antiquities about this topic imply that the canonical order of the Hebrew Bible was only partially agreed by the Jewish contemporaries of Josephus. Josephus' approaching to the cannon in Apion reflects his interest in the canonical debate among the Jews at around CE 100. It was evidenced by 4 Ezra 14 and the debate about the catchword 'Yavneh/ Jamnia'. |
