| Title: Josephus on how to survive martyrdom Secondary Title: Journal of Jewish Studies Volume: 55,2 Pages: 230-245 Type: Journal Article Year: 2004 Abstract: The article analyzes Josephus' suicide reports in comparison with the suicide accounts written by active writes during the Flavian age. Josephus did not mention much whether martyrdom was an indigenous Jewish concept or a result of the Jewish interaction with Graeco-Roman culture.
