Abstract: "The advisers who supposedly assisted Josephus in redacting his War were not at all interested in the purity of his language: their task consisted of deleting anything unfavourable to Vespasian". - C.S. "The Greek style of Josephus' Jewish War was influenced more by Thucydides than by the historical books of the Bible. Despite some Semitisms (as a survey of book 5 shows), it appears that Josephus received a solid Hellenic formation and could use Greek competently. His collaborators on the Work were probably concerned more with its political content than with its Greek language". - D.J.H.
