Abstract: In War, Josephus held more liberal views on the Biblical narratives than he did in Antiquities. In particular, he relied on the works of Callisthenes, Timaeus, and Polybius. He thus took liberties with the Biblical view in order to fit it into the general history written by Graeco-Roman historians.
