| Title: Religionsgeschichtliches Textbuch zum Neuen Testament Secondary Title: TNT 1 Type: Book Year: 1987 Abstract: In their sixteen-page introduction Berger and Colpe discuss the theological significance of history-of-religions work, explain the structure and aim of their own book, and suggest categories for determining the relation between early Christian texts and those of their milieu. Then they provide German translations and brief comments for 626 ancient texts arranged so as to illumine specific NT texts. For example, Mk 13:20 is illumined by 1 Enoch 80:2 and Rom 11:26 by Oracle of Hystaspes and 4 Ezra 13:3-8, 35-37. The volume is intended as the history-of-religions counterpart to H.G. Kippenberg and G.A. Wewers, Textbuch zur neutestamentlichen Zeitgeschichte (NTA 24, p. 106). Keywords: New Testament / Early Christianity |
