| Title: Stylometric Authorship Studies in Flavius Josephus and Related Literature Secondary Title: JewSt 12 Type: Generic Year: 1992 Abstract: "After surveying developments in the stylometric study of authorship and summarizing the principles that schould form the basis of proper stylometric inquiry, ths volume isolates nine to fifteen words used by Josephus in statistically uniform ways throughout his recognized corpus. Next it employs these words to compare Josephus' writing with samples drawn from known authors (Nicolaus of Damascus, Strabo of Amaseia, Plutarch), and from 4 Maccabees and De Universo, respectively. Williams, who teaches in the department of religion at the University of Georgia, concludes that these stylometric analayses reveal the extreme improbability of Josephus' autorship of either 4 Maccabees and De Universo."
