| Title: Caesar's Decrees in the Antiquities. Josephus' Forgeries or Authentic Roman Senatus Consulta? // in: JSJ 27 (1996) 462: The decrees quoted in A 14:191-212 are copies, translated into Greek, of authentic Latin senatus consulta. They are, however, fragmentary, show corruptions, and different parts of the same decree are presented as if they were separate documents. This can be explained, as was pointed out by Fergus Millar and later by Tessa Rajak, by the supposition that Josephus acquired his documents from the local archives of the Jewish diaspora. // Sievers, Joseph in: JSJ 28,2 (1997) 212: Discusses the documents in Ant 14.190-212 and concludes, against Moehring, that ""Caesar's decrees concerning Hyrcanus II and the Jews seem to be gfragmentary copies, or rather, copies of copies, traslated into Greek, of authentic Roman decrees""."
