| Title: Jehoshaphat at mid-career according to AJ 9,1-17 Secondary Title: RB Volume: 102 Pages: 379-402 Type: Journal Article Year: 1995 Abstract: in: AnPh 66 (1995), 191: "Examen de la maniére dont Josèphe, dans AJ 9,1-17, présente des épisodes du milieu du règne de Josaphat, roi de Juda. La comparaison dètaillée avec le texte biblique (2 Chr 19,1-21,1) permet des conclusions sur le texte des Chroniques dont disposait Josèphe, comme sur ses techniques de réécriture".
in: IZGB 41 (1995/1996), 270: "This paper investigates Josephus' treatment, in A 9:1-17, of events in the middle period of the reign of king Jehoshaphat of Judah, i.e. his encounter with the prophet Jehu, judical reforms, the overthrow of the enemy coalition, and the joint Judean-Israelite maritime venture. The study proceeds by way of a detailed comparison between the Josephan account and its Biblical source, i.e. 2 Chr 19,1-21,1 (as represented by Mt, the codex Vaticanus (B) and the Lucianic recension (L) of LXX and the Chronicles Targum). On the basis of that comparison, conclusions are drawn concerning the text-forms(s) of Chronicles available to Josephus in A 9:1-17 as well as the rewriting techniques employed by him in developing his own distinctive version of the above-cited events".
