Abstract: "The article examines the different incidents of anti-Roman riots from Herod's death to the outbreak of the A.D. 66-70 war as described by Josephus and other sources. The various movements in 1st-century A.D. Judaism differed in their views of how to assure God's eschatological intervention. Whereas the Zealots were prepared for a fight that was to extend to heaven, Theudas and the ""Egyptian"" wished to create an ""eschatological situation"" that had been announced beforehand in the Scriptures - precisely what Jesus wanted to do in driving out the moneychangers from the Temple. D.J.H.Une tude trs dtaille et prcise des passages parallles de Ant. et de Bell. qui traitent des diverses rvoltes anti-romaines qui menrent la guerre permet P. de conclure: - que ""Jewish eschatology in the first century A.D. consisted essentially in finding a way to ""force God's hand"", to assure God's intervention; and that the different currents within Judaism differed in their views of how to bring this about"", - que la perspective eschatologique des Pharisiens et des Zlotes tait dans ce sens identique; - et que par contre, la perspective de Thudas, de l ""Egyptien"" et de Jsus tait diffrente de celle des Zlotes: ""While the Zealots were prepared for a fight which was to extend to heaven, Theudas and the ""Egyptian"" wished to create an ""eschatological situation"" which had been preannounce in the Scripture: precisely what Jesus had wanted to do in driving out the money-changers from the Temple"". // The article examines the different incidents of anti-Roman riots from Herod's death to the outbreak of the A.D. 66-70 war as described by Josephus and other sources.
