"The Testimonium Flavianum (Josephus, Ant. XVIII 63-64) has generated a debate over its authenticity that encompasses every position imaginable. The author reviews briefly the major positions taken in recent decades and makes the proposal that all these are wrong. It is suggested that the simple extraction of the three obviously Christian statements within the Testimonium yields the original or "core" text Josephus wrote. "The major scholarly position regarding Josephus' testimony to Jesus' ministry and death in Ant. 18:63-64 propose complete rejection, major rewrite, minor rewrite, or complete acceptance. The simple extraction of the three obviously Christian statements in the Testimonium Flavianum yields the original or "core" text that Josephus wrote: "At this time there appeared Jesus, a wise man. For he was a doer of starling deeds, a teacher of people who deceive the truth with pleasure. And he gained a following both among many Jews and among many of Greek origin. And when (or, although) Pilate, because of an accusation made by the leading men among us, condemned him to the cross, those who h ad loved him previously did not cease to do so. "Das berühmte Testimonium Flavianum (Ant. 18.3.3) hat eine Debatte ausgelöst, in der jede denkbare Position vertreten wird, von totaler Akzeptanz bis zur totalen Ablehnung. Das Ziel dieses Aussatzes ist es, kurz die wichtigsten in den letzten Jahrzehnten bezogenen Stellungnahmen (vollständige Zurückweisung, weitgehende Überarbeitung des Textes, geringe Überarbeitung, vollständige Annahme) zu besprechen und den bescheidenen Vorschlag zu machen, all dies Positionen als irrig zu betrachten. Bei einem Vergleich mit dem MT kommt M. zu dem Ergebnis, daß aufs Ganze gesehen die Behandlung von Jesus und Johannes dem Täufer in Buch 18 der Ant. schlichtweg unvereinbar ist mit dem Werk eines Christen irgendeiner Periode. Abgesehen von drei augenscheinlich christlichen Behauptungen hat Josephus den Text des Testimoniums geschrieben. Alle vorgebrachten Vermutungen darüber, woher Joephus seine Information hatte, zeigen einen möglichen Weg auf; keine ist zu verifizieren. Stellt man die Frage, ob es einen außerbiblischen Beweis aus dem 2.
