Title: The Emperor Titus
Author: Jones, Brian William
Type: Book
Year: 1984
Abstract: "Jones, associate professor in the department of classics and ancient history at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, first surveys the emperor Titus' early career to A.D. 66, with stress on his family's background, their patrons, his education, and his marriages. Then the volume focuses on Titus' Judean campaigns of A.D. 67 and 68, his part in the siege of Jerusalem, his voyage in the East, and his relationships to Agrippa II and Berenice. It also examines Titus' position in Verspasian's reign and assesses his alleged conflict with Mucianus. The final chapter treats various aspects of Titus' reign: economic policy, conflict with Domitian administrative and foreign policy, amici and senior officials, public works, the imperial cult and death and deification".
